Communications Manager Local Outreach & Project Branding

Are you passionate about sustainability? Do you have strategic and practical experience with local outreach activities such as stakeholder and citizen communication?

Do you want to put these skills to work and advance the green transition in Denmark and abroad?

Then join us as our new Communications Manager.

Innargi is a geothermal heating company founded in 2017 and owned by A.P. Moller Holding, ATP and NRGi Renewables.

Our mission is to heat millions of urban homes, whilst leaving zero impact on our planet by unlocking geothermal energy.

Geothermal facilities by design are constructed and placed in urban environments. Therefore, we need to engage locally to secure our licence to operate and bring our projects to life. In other words, local outreach, including genuine, professional and open dialogue with a broad range of local stakeholders is a prerequisite for our success.

Your role

As our Communications Manager in Denmark, you will be responsible for our local outreach efforts across the country, with a particular focus on the construction of our flagship project in Aarhus – the EU’s largest geothermal district heating plant.

Apart from stakeholder and citizen outreach, you will also be responsible for the branding of our projects in Denmark – from strategy to execution. This work will also include showcasing our Danish projects to prospective customers abroad by identifying, developing, and sharing the best and most appealing stories.

The Communications Manager role is based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, but it is also possible to work out of our project office in Aarhus.

About us

Innargi is a small, entrepreneurial, and highly energised organisation. As a team, we see our different backgrounds and experiences as a genuine source of strength, and we respect each other’s technical and functional competencies.

Our structure is lean and flat. We believe strongly in value creation through empowering our employees, and you will have considerable autonomy to shape your role, alongside an expectation that you will collaborate across disciplines.

You will join a small but solid External Relations team. The External Relations team is responsible for public affairs and regulatory affairs, internal and external communications, stakeholder and neighbour communications, and branding. We all have a variety of tasks to carry out, and we pull together to accomplish our goals. In your everyday work, you will collaborate closely with the rest of the External Relations team as well as the project teams.

We are looking for:

As our new Communications Manager, you most likely hold a degree in communications, social science or journalism and have at least two years’ experience working with relevant communications and local outreach activities, ideally, though not necessarily, on infrastructure projects.

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Is passionate about sustainability and wants to help communities decarbonise heat.
  • Understands and has proven experience with local outreach activities such as stakeholder and citizen communication.
  • Combines a hands-on approach with a strategic mindset and a good understanding of political communication.
  • Is confident in their ability to create engaging communications across multiple platforms and develop the strategy underpinning them.
  • Is driven and motivated by engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of people and professionals.
  • Is fluent in Danish and has excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.

We very much look forward to hearing from you.

Deadline for applications November 17, 2026

We will continuously review the applications and call for interviews. Please send your application to HR Consultant Cecilie Hansen, HR@innargi.com

For questions or more information about the position, please contact Chief External Relations Officer Asbjørn Haugstrup, asbjorn.haugstrup@innargi.com or +45 2672 9421.
