Senior Press and Communications Advisor

Would you like to work with reputation management, communications consulting, and media relations alongside some of the country’s sharpest communicators? Are you also interested in helping to strengthen our communications within sustainability? We are now seeking an experienced communications advisor to reinforce Nordea Denmark’s communications team.

Nordea is the largest provider of financial services in the Nordics and one of the largest banks in Europe. Our colleagues create value for both our customers and the broader society. For example, we assist private individuals and businesses with financing and investment, develop world-class digital solutions, act as active shareholders to encourage companies towards greater sustainability, and contribute to combating fraud and financial crime.

About our team

In Nordea’s Danish communications department, we create value for Nordea, our customers, and the public in Denmark through both external and internal communication. As a senior press and communications advisor, you will play a key role in this work.

You will drive communications activities that help Nordea achieve its business objectives and strengthen and protect Nordea’s position and reputation. Among other things, you will contribute to communications about financing the green transition.

Navigating the intersection of finance, personal economy, and society, we follow a clear overarching strategy in an ever-changing landscape. We approach our work with composure, professionalism, good humor, and strong team spirit, enabling us to achieve Nordea’s ambitious goals together.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be part of a diverse and inclusive communications team with a wide range of professional profiles, expertise, and backgrounds, where ideas quickly turn into action.
  • You will work closely with communications colleagues in marketing and customer communications, as well as with Nordea Denmark’s spokespersons, economists, and experts.
  • Close collaboration with the Danish management team at Nordea Denmark.
  • An inclusive workplace where we care for each other and collaborate across teams to achieve great results.
  • You will work at Nordea Denmark’s headquarters in Copenhagen, where nearly 3,000 colleagues are based.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, and execute proactive communication that brings Nordea even closer to customers and supports our reputation.
  • Translate complex issues into easily understandable messages, including those related to sustainability.
  • Work across channels, always with a sharp focus on the target audience.
  • Handle daily media inquiries promptly and in a trustworthy manner.
  • Work on messaging, interview, and media training together with our spokespersons.
  • Drive and implement communication plans and activities for the bank’s prioritized agendas.
  • Work on quarterly report communications for Nordea Denmark.

Who You Are

To succeed in this role, we believe you:

  • Are a team player who understands the importance of collaboration to achieve optimal results.
  • Are ambitious, proactive, structured, and a self-starter—able to deliver within deadlines.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment with many parallel tasks.
  • Like to learn new things and contribute new ideas.
  • Enjoy working in challenging communication scenarios that require availability, speed, and always a precise and well-crafted result.
  • Can navigate a large Nordic organization.

Your Background and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with media relations and a strong understanding of social media.
  • Solid experience in sustainability communications and skilled at creating clear messages in this area.
  • Experience in identifying proactive communication opportunities and thinking execution 360°, i.e., across channels and target groups.
  • Strategic skills and a sharp writing ability.
  • Knowledge of and experience with social media is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with the financial sector, personal economy, and macroeconomic areas is an advantage.
  • We speak and write Danish, but the corporate language is English.
